Instagram Data Deletion
If you connected an Instagram account to Pinvia, this page explains how to disconnect it, and how to have everything we collected from it deleted. The full details are in Section 3 of our Privacy Policy.
What we hold
For a connected Instagram account, we hold:
- The access token Instagram gave us when you connected
- Your Instagram username and account ID, on your Pinvia account
- The posts we collected: each caption, a link to the post, when it was posted, and the text we read from its images
- Our own copies of those post images
Disconnect
Disconnecting stops us reading your posts. You can do it either way:
- In the Pinvia app: Profile, then Settings, then Unlink next to your Instagram account
- On Instagram: remove Pinvia from the apps and websites connected to your account
Either one deletes the access token and removes your Instagram username from your Pinvia account. It does not delete the posts and images we already collected straight away. Those are deleted on our normal schedule: 30 days after our team dismisses a post, or once an unreviewed post is 90 days old. To delete them now, request deletion below.
Delete everything
You can ask us to delete all the Instagram data we hold about your account in any of these ways:
- Through Instagram. If Instagram offers you the option to request that your data be deleted when you remove Pinvia, Instagram sends that request to us and we carry it out automatically. You receive a confirmation code and a link to a page showing its status.
- By email. Write to support@pinvia.co from the email on your Pinvia account, and tell us the Instagram account. Once we have checked the account is yours, we delete it and send you the same confirmation code and status page.
- By deleting your Pinvia account. That deletes all of it too. See Delete your account.
What gets deleted
- The access token, on every Pinvia account that holds one for your Instagram account
- Every post we collected, with its caption and the text we read from it
- Our copies of your post images
- Your Instagram username and ID on your Pinvia account, and on any venue application you made
What is kept
If our team already published a Pinvia event listing from one of your posts, that listing stays up, together with the image it shows, while we review it. The status page tells you if any were kept. To have them removed, write to support@pinvia.co with your confirmation code.
Deletion cannot be undone. Deleting Instagram data does not delete your Pinvia account; to delete that, see Delete your account.
